A concept. A feeling. A Modus Operandi. Amir Alexander Blues Band is a One Man Band Project.
Old-Timey Southern Gospel. Mississippi Hill Country Blues, Progressive Rock, Underground Hip Hop, Cutting Edge Underground House and Techno Music.
All these styles mesh and merge to feed a new genre. “Broken Beat Blues.” One Artist’s humble contribution. An effort to push the boundaries, and redefine the contributing elements. For the unfamiliar; Amir Alexander is a critically acclaimed International Underground Club DJ/Producer.

From humble beginnings as a dancer attending underground rave and warehouse parties in the early 1990s, to the majority of the worlds top clubs and festivals. Brother Amir was but the third DJ in history to ever play the Sydney Opera House Auditorium. Often referred to as a favorite DJ’s favorite DJ.
And or a favorite producer’s favorite producer; the phrase “been there, done that” rings quite true.

And being that true art thrives on challenge, the need for said challenge brings new sonic horizons. Returning to his roots. A skateboarding, Jazz Band Bass Player in a Punk Band at 17 years old.
The goal is to ‘keep the same energy” as my Club Music. But with a Live Band format. P-Bass, Guitar, Drumkit, Pre 1972 Keys. Home out loud, headphones, on public transit, in the whip, the club, or in the background. Faith Based Music. Clever Parables and Whitty Metaphors. Music for the body, mind, & eternal soul.

I continue to push himself. Never one to rest on laurels; “the best project is always the current/next project.”
That which is done, is done. Looking back is not the way forward, so I refrain from doing it.
….I’m just not built that way yo.

Yeah, I’ve been many places and seen many things. Accomplished things some admire, and others envy. These were personal goals at the time I was engaged therewith. But with that said;
There are always new horizons.
The sun sets on one, then rises on another.
